Personal information we collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.
Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information”.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about Cookies, and how to disable Cookies, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including but not limited to credit card numbers or bank account information), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.
When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
weBoost® Messenger Service — Additional Information We Collect
When you use the weBoost® Messenger Product and Service, we collect additional categories of information beyond what is described above, including:
From weBoost® Messenger account holders:
- Account profile information including your first name, last name, date of birth, account password (stored as a salted hash), and chosen display name
- Phone number associated with your account
- Email address associated with your account
- Designated emergency contact information (name, phone number, email) you provide for use with the SOS feature
- Device identifier and pairing information for your weBoost® Messenger Device, including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) MAC address and firmware version
- Mobile device identifiers including push notification tokens, operating system version, and App version
- Location data — including GPS coordinates, altitude, heading, and timestamp — captured from the weBoost® Messenger Device when transmitted with a message or activated by the SOS feature, or as a periodic background location update if enabled in the App
- Message metadata including sender, recipient(s), timestamp, message size, delivery status, channel used (satellite, cellular, Wi-Fi), and message credit type consumed
- Message content, retained for the period necessary to deliver the message and for any retry logic, and for the period required by applicable law and our retention policy
- Credit balances, Bundle status, and transaction history
- Consent records associated with SMS Recipients you have contacted
From SMS Recipients (non-account-holders who receive messages from weBoost® Messenger account holders):
- Phone number
- Inbound message content sent in reply to a weBoost® Messenger user
- Consent status (pending invitation, opted in, opted out) and the timestamp of each consent event
- Network-provided sender metadata that may accompany an inbound SMS (such as the carrier’s identifier of the sending number), as made available by Twilio
- Limited interaction metadata if the Recipient uses our optional web-based reply portal (IP address, browser user agent, timestamp)
We do not collect the names, email addresses, or any other identifiers of SMS Recipients unless they voluntarily provide that information in the content of an SMS reply.
How do we use your Personal Information?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you;
- Send you marketing emails;
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), creating retargeting and lookalike advertising campaigns, monitoring and optimizing UI/UX, and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
weBoost® Messenger Service — How We Use Your Information
We use information collected through the weBoost® Messenger Service to:
- Deliver messages between you and your contacts via the appropriate network (cellular, Wi-Fi, or satellite)
- Send invitation SMS messages and process YES/STOP responses to establish or revoke recipient consent
- Maintain consent records as required by carrier rules, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and CTIA Messaging Principles
- Honor opt-out requests across all weBoost® Messenger users for any recipient who has replied STOP
- Coordinate emergency response when you activate the SOS feature, including sharing your location and emergency contact information with FocusPoint International and emergency responders
- Authenticate you and protect against fraudulent or unauthorized account activity
- Operate, maintain, and improve the weBoost® Messenger Product, including diagnostic logging and over-the-air firmware updates
- Comply with our legal obligations, including responding to subpoenas and other lawful requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service, investigate violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, and respond to recipient complaints
Sharing your Personal Information
weBoost® Messenger Service — Third-Party Processors
We share information collected through the weBoost® Messenger Service with the following categories of third-party service providers, each of which is contractually obligated to use the information only to provide services to us:
- Twilio Inc. — processes SMS messages between weBoost® users and SMS Recipients, stores message metadata and content for delivery purposes, and maintains carrier-required compliance records. Twilio’s privacy policy: https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy
- Monogoto Networks Ltd. — provides satellite and cellular connectivity for the weBoost® Messenger Device. Monogoto’s privacy policy: https://monogoto.io/privacy-policy/
- FocusPoint International — receives SOS activations, your location, account profile, and emergency contact information solely for emergency response coordination
- Shopify Inc. — processes payment information for Bundle and Add-On purchases
- Cloud infrastructure providers — host our servers, databases, and message-routing infrastructure
- Push notification providers (Apple Push Notification Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) — deliver in-App notifications to your mobile device
We may also share your information:
- With law enforcement or other government authorities in response to a lawful request, court order, or legal obligation
- With emergency responders during an active SOS event as described in Section 12 of the weBoost® Messenger Service Terms
- In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, asset sale) involving Wilson Electronics, LLC
- To enforce our Terms of Service or defend our legal rights

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. - Right to rectification — the right to request that we amend or update your personal data where it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Right to erasure — the right to request that we delete your personal data;
- Right to restrict — the right to request that we temporarily or permanently stop processing all or some of your personal data;

- The right, at any time, to object to us processing your personal data on grounds relating to your situation;
- The right to object to your personal data being processed for direct marketing purposes;
- Right to data portability — the right to request a copy of your personal data in electronic format and the right to transmit that personal data for use in another party’s service; and
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making — the right to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated decision making, including profiling, where the decision would have a legal effect on you or produce a similarly significant effect.
Additionally, if you are a European resident, please note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
SMS Recipient Rights
If you have received an SMS message from the weBoost® Messenger Service, you have the following rights:
Right to Opt Out. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from the weBoost® Messenger Number. Your opt-out is honored immediately and indefinitely across all weBoost® Messenger users.
Right to Access and Deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by contacting us using the information at the end of this Privacy Policy. We will verify your identity (typically by sending a verification code to your phone number) before processing your request. Note that opt-out records may be retained even after deletion of other data because they are required for ongoing compliance with carrier and regulatory rules.
Right to Know Who Contacted You. If you wish to know the identity of the weBoost® Messenger user who initiated a message to you, you may contact us. We will provide the first name and account creation date associated with that user, and we will notify the user of your inquiry. We will not provide the user’s full name, contact information, or location without legal process.
Right to Lodge a Complaint. You may file a complaint about messaging practices with the Federal Communications Commission at https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/ or with your state attorney general.
Data retention and deletion
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
If you request, we will delete or anonymize your personal data so that it no longer identifies you, unless we are legally allowed or required to maintain certain personal data, including situations such as the following:
- If there is an unresolved issue relating to your account, such as an outstanding credit on your account or an unresolved claim or dispute we will retain the necessary personal data until the issue is resolved;
- Where we need to retain the personal data for our legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations, we will retain the necessary personal data for the period required by applicable law; and/or,
- Where necessary for our legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention or to maintain the security of our users.
weBoost® Messenger Service Data Retention
In addition to the retention practices described above, the following retention periods apply to weBoost® Messenger Service data:
- Message content — retained for delivery and retry purposes for up to 30 days after successful delivery or final failure, then deleted from active systems. Limited metadata (timestamps, channel, delivery status) may be retained longer for diagnostic and compliance purposes.
- Consent records (opt-in, opt-out, invitation events) — retained indefinitely while you have an active account and for at least four (4) years after your last interaction with the Service. Opt-out records may be retained indefinitely to honor opt-outs across user accounts.
- Location data — non-SOS location pings are retained for 90 days unless you request earlier deletion. SOS-related location data is retained for the period required for legal and emergency-response documentation purposes (typically 7 years).
- Account data — retained while your account is active and for 30 days after account deletion (the grace period described in Section 10.5 of the weBoost® Messenger Service Terms), after which it is permanently deleted except where retention is required by law.
- Transaction records — retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and consumer protection laws.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
Minors
The weBoost® Messenger Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 in accordance with Section 17 of the weBoost® Messenger Service Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 for the purpose of providing the Messenger Service. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Other parts of the Site (such as e-commerce checkout for cellular signal boosters) may be used by persons under 18 with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through any part of the Site or App, and no part of our properties is structured to attract anyone under 13.
